Who we are
Life Climb (lifeclimb.app) is run by Mareks Voicickis, Oststraße 15, 57392 Schmallenberg, Germany.
Email: mvoicickis@gmail.com.
We are responsible for your data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), language and app settings. If you turn on two-step login, the data needed for it.
- What you add: your goal, camps, battles, Basics and what you log for them, and a mountain photo if you upload one.
- Time zone: so reminders and "today" match your local day.
- Technical data: when you log in, we store your IP address and browser/device type with your session. Sessions expire after 30 days.
- Usage events: a few steps in the app (for example signing up, finishing onboarding, winning your first battle), so we can see where the app needs to be better.
- Feedback: what you send us, and a contact detail if you add one.
- Reminders: if you allow notifications, the push address your browser gives us.
- Payments: if you subscribe, Stripe handles the payment. We store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and the subscription status. We never see or store your card details.
Why we use it
- To run the app and your account (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b), contract).
- To keep the app secure and improve it (Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest).
- To send reminders, only if you allow notifications (Art. 6(1)(a), consent). You can turn them off at any time on the You page or in your browser.
Who else handles data
- Render: hosts the app and its database.
- Stripe: processes payments, if you subscribe.
- Browser push services (for example Google Firebase Cloud Messaging): deliver reminders you allowed.
- AI provider (OpenRouter or a similar service): if you use the planning help, the text of your goal and climb is sent to create suggestions.
- An email provider: sends emails like password resets.
We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
Cookies and storage
We only use cookies and browser storage the app needs to work: keeping you logged in and showing the app offline. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep data
Until you delete your account. Login sessions expire after 30 days. Deleting your account removes your goal, camps, battles, Basics, sessions, reminders and feedback.
A few things stay: anonymous usage events that aren't linked to you, the customer record at Stripe (your subscription is cancelled), and copies in emails and server logs for a short time.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or export your data, limit or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time.
You can delete your account yourself on the You page (see /delete-account).
Email mvoicickis@gmail.com for anything else.
You can also complain to a data protection authority; ours is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Children
Life Climb is not meant for children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above.
